December 16, 2025 - PNC Update #14

Dear Christ Pres Family,

We want to share an update on where the Pastor Nominating Committee is in the search process and invite you to join us in prayer.

After much conversation, prayer, and listening, we find ourselves discerning between two pastoral candidates who are both faithful, gifted, and qualified—yet who bring different pastoral styles, leadership approaches, and personalities. While each candidate has clear strengths, their differences would likely shape and stretch Christ Pres in different ways. The committee is prayerfully seeking the Lord’s clear direction regarding the best fit for the calling and future God has for our congregation.

The PNC has chosen to use this time during the Christmas season to pray, listen, and seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.  We ask you, our church family, to join with us in prayer during this time:

  • Pray that God would reveal His heart for this next chapter in the life of Christ Pres, and that we would hear and recognize His voice and continue to grow in love for Him and one another.

  • Pray for unity, clarity, peace, and deep assurance for all members of the PNC—an assurance that comes from listening to God’s leading, and a willingness to desire what God desires, even when that requires laying down our own preferences.

  • Pray for confirmation and alignment through multiple faithful sources—Scripture, the counsel of godly leaders, the discernment of our congregation, and the clarity given to the candidates themselves.

  • Pray that God would give our congregation the faithfulness and courage to follow His calling into the future He has prepared for us.

If God places anything on your heart that you believe may be helpful to the committee, we invite you to share that with a member of the PNC.

Thank you for your patience, your trust, and your continued prayers. We are deeply grateful for this congregation and remain committed to listening carefully for God’s leading as we move forward together.
